My wife and I were in the market for a new leather sofa and love seat because our current leather sofa and love seat are 15 years old. Even though they are 15 years old, they are made of high end construction and high quality leather. The problem is the color is a lighter tan/beige color and the seat cushions were showing an extreme amount of discoloration and wear on them. So, we went "couch shopping" at a couple different furniture stores. After looking over and inspecting the quality of the new merchandise, we wondered if our current couches could be brought back to life before investing thousands of dollars for new ones and probably not getting the quality we already have.

After researching the internet for "restoring leather furniture" I came upon Leather Restoration Co. My wife and I had some errands to run out in the Waukesha area so we decided to take one of our leather cushions with us and stop in at the Leather Restoration Co. for them to take a look at.

Upon entering their store, you can see the leather furniture projects that are currently being worked on. I must admit I was not very confident that they could restore our cushions to anywhere near their original look or feel. A gentleman by the name of Shay came out to assist us. We told him we wanted to see if there was any possibility of restoring our cushions before we made the investment into new furniture. Shay quickly looked at our cushion and said he could definitely get it back to looking new again. I was still a little apprehensive about having the leather redone but Shay was confident it would turn out excellent. He showed us a number of different leather furniture that was in the process of being restored and many of the items were way worse than ours.

Shay quoted us a price per cushion to have them redone and he also suggested having the "stuffing" in the seat and backrest cushions "re-stuffed." We told Shay that the armrests on the couches had scratches and wear from our small dog jumping up on it over the years. Shay said after he finished with the cushions he would personally come out and refinish the arms at the house eliminating the need for delivery to their shop. By the way, Shay is the owner of Leather Restoration Co. and is as knowledgeable as they come.

So after discussing our circumstance with Shay, we decided to go ahead and have our couches (seat cushions and arms) redone. We dropped off the cushions on Monday morning and they were completed on Wednesday as Shay promised. We had made an appointment with Shay to come to the house that same Friday to have the arms done. Shay showed up and about 1 1/2 hours later it was completed.

The result: UNBELIEVABLE!!! I can't tell you how impressed I am with Shay and Leather Restoration Co. The finished product is absolutely remarkable. His expertise in matching color is simply outstanding. Our couches literally look brand new and it cost us thousands of dollars less than buying new furniture.

If you have leather furniture that you thought was too far gone to restore, see Shay at Leather Restoration Co. He can repair holes, scuffs, scratches, worn or discolored leather and make it look brand new.

One other note about dealing with Shay and Leather Restoration Co. Most businesses require a deposit to start any work but Shay said just pay us when the work is done and after you are satisfied. Yes, he had our cushions as collateral but you get a sense of trust and ethics when dealing with Shay and that you can't put a price on.

We are so thrilled with the results and with our interaction with Shay and his company that we are actually thinking of having them change the color of a classic leather wing chair we have from a burgundy color to an espresso or chocolate color. I know Shay and Leather Restoration Co. will do a fantastic job on it!

I would like to take this opportunity to commend Leather Restoration Co.

My 15 year old leather sofa, chair and ottoman had been scratched by my two large dogs, lost color in many areas and the cushions had become to soft to sit on comfortably.

My furniture was picked up by their professional staff and restored to perfect condition. They were able to redye the set to its original color, apply a conditioning treatment to restore the soft feel expected with a fine leather.

In addition, the upholstery shop restuffed the cushions adding to the comfort of our furniture.

We are very happy with the end result and strongly recommend calling Leather Restoration Co. before replacing your leather furniture.
